The 2020 U.P. Football All-Star Game Draft Day
- Updated: March 14, 2020

Marquette, MI – March 14, 2020 – The U.P. Football All-Star Draft was in full swing this evening on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1-99.9.
In spite of concern across the state about COVID-19, it was a packed house and spirits were jovial as football players and coaches gathered to find out who would play for the Black and Red Teams at the U.P. Football All-Star Game later this year.
The evening’s festivities commenced at Buffalo Wild Wings in Marquette where football players from across the Upper Peninsula gathered for the draft. The U.P. Football All-Star Game will take place June 27th, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Superior Dome.
The first overall pick for the evening was Menominee’s Keagan Monroe. Monroe will play for the Red Team come this June. The Black Team used their #1 pick to draft Schyler Andersen of Manistique. Our own Tyler Young, Bob Nadeau, and Travis Nelson brought listeners all the action.
The guys spoke to Colton Salani of Hancock who expressed his excitement to get to know the other players later this summer. Jacob Kugler of Ishpeming, the #2 pick for the Red Team, was also on hand and spoke to the guys about getting to play alongside his friends in what should prove to be a very exciting match-up in June.
Taylor Dellangelo of Westwood, the 3rd pick for the Black Team, also put on a headset and echoed the sentiments of the other players. Dellangelo is looking forward to building friendships and going from opponents to teammates with his fellow All-Stars.
Carter Crouch of Lake Linden-Hubbell hopped on the air to express his enthusiasm for the All-Star Game, comparing the energy to a State Championship. Crouch’s father will be helping coach the Black Team, but unfortunately an injury will sideline the talented player this year.
The evening went off without a hitch and it sounds like the players are ready to go. They’ll have to wait until June, however, when Fox Sports Marquette 105.1-99.9 will bring you all the action.
