
First Half: Marquette’s Averie Kelly scored the first points of the game and gave the Redettes the quick lead. It would be short lived however as Negaunee would go on a 10-1 run against the Redettes. Megan Anderson would score the majority of the points for the Miners in the first quarter.
Marquette had a hard time getting their offense going to start out, but their defense was playing well holding Negaunee to only 10 points. Maria Millado would show up and score nine points and outscore Negaunee herself in the second quarter. Josie Thomson for Negaunee would hit a 3-pointer and keep the lead in the Miner’s favor headed into the locker room.
Halftime: Negaunee 17, Marquette 12

Second Half: Coming out of the break Negaunee showed a different defense as the first half. The Redettes still scored the first points of the half by Averie Kelly. Marquette’s Rayna Warchock was able to bring the Redettes within two with a shot behind the arc. Negaunee’s Alyssa Hill would take over the third quarter putting up 10 points for the Miners.

Redette Rayna Warchock was able to break up an 11-0 run by the Miners when she went to the line for free throws. Brooklyn Michelin was able to put some points up and bring the Redettes within 11 bringing the score to, 32-22. The Miners outscore the Redettes in the quarter, 16-10.
Heading into the final quarter of play Marquette had their backs against the wall. They wouldn’t go down without a fight however with Maria Millado and Averie Kelly putting up some points to keep the Redettes within 10 of the Miners. Alyssa Hill and Emilia Palomaki were able to keep the Redettes at bay with their scoring and leaving Marquette with the win.
Final: Negaunee 47, Marquette 40
