Traverse City, MI – January 13, 2023 – Marquette travels to Traverse City to play Byron Center live on Foxsports 105.1-99.9!
1st Period: The Redmen would win the draw to start the game. The Redmen would get a shot off withing the first 30 seconds but would miss just barley. Marquette would come back down and would get a couple more shots off but the Bulldogs would be able to hold off. Byron Center would come right back and get a great shot off but the goalie would make a great save. Marquette would ice the puck. Marquette would get a shot off and a redirect but would miss. Bulldogs would come back down to get another shot but again the goalie would make a great save. Byron Center would ice the puck. Bulldogs would get called for off sides. Marquette would get a quick shot off before the period ends.
Marquette: 0 Byron Center: 0
2nd Period: The Redmen would win the draw to start the period. Marquette would almost get a clean shot off but the Bulldogs would make a good defensive play. Marquette would win another face off. Marquette would get a shot off but the goalie would get a save. Marquette would go on their first power play. Marquette would get a shot off and another save by the Bulldogs. Marquette would go 5 on 3 after a tripping foul by the Bulldogs. A clear would end the 5 on 3. Marquette would not be able to take advantage of the power play. The Redmen would go right back to another power play. Marquette would get a great shot off and chance to get the rebound but no one was there. A missed opportunity by the Redmen. Another power play that Marquette didn’t take advantage of. The Bulldogs would get a great shot off but the goalie would get another get save. Bulldogs would get deep into Marquette territory and would take multiple shots at the goal but would miss. The Bulldogs would score with 10 seconds left of the period.

3rd Period: Byron Center would win the draw to start the period. Marquette would get called for icing. The Bulldogs again would win the face off. Marquette would get a great shot off but would miss the corner. The Bulldogs would get called for icing and Marquette would the draw. Byron Center would get called for icing again. Marquette would get a shot off but would barley miss. Marquette would get another great shot off but couldn’t score even after the rebound. Marquette would score off a rebound with 10 minutes left. Marquette would get called for icing. The Bulldogs would win the face off and would score immediately. Giving Byron Center the lead with 6 minutes left. Marquette would drive and try to get a shot off but the defense would hold off. The Bulldogs would get called for off sides. Marquette would win the draw. The Redmen would win another draw but that would end game.
