Kingsford, MI – December 21, 2023 – The Marquette hockey team earned their ninth straight victory on Thursday night by a score of 4-1 over the Kingsford Flivvers. It was an evenly played game, with the first period ending scoreless, but the offense picked up in the second when Adam Heikkila scored to give Marquette a 1-0 advantage. Kingsford responded not long after with a goal from Jake Crockford, but Marquette regained their lead in the waning seconds when Caleb Fries scored on a 2-on-1 to swing the momentum back in Marquette’s favor. Fries added another goal on a breakaway shortly into the third period, and Kyle Moyer netted the insurance marker for Marquette en route to the victory.
