Gladstone, MI – August 25, 2023 – Marquette was on the road to start their 2023 varsity football campaign. They traveled to Gladstone to face the Braves in non-conference play. Luke Ghiardi and Riley Debelak were live with the call on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1-99.9!
Gladstone saw success early on with an interception and a pair of touchdowns. Marquette reeled in a couple of interceptions, but couldn’t convert them into any points. The Braves piled on the points and blanked Marquette going into the half, 24-0. Gladstone continued to pull away and eventually started a running clock with a 36 point lead. A Jacob MacPhee touchdown put Marquette on the board to avoid the shutout. A quiet second half saw Gladstone run away with the win handing Marquette their first loss of the year, 36-7.
