Marquette Boys Varsity Hockey Loses To Livonia-Stevenson Spartans 2-1
- Updated: February 4, 2023

Trenton, Mi– February 4th, 2023– The Marquette Varsity Hockey team fought hard against the Stevenson Spartans Friday afternoon in Trenton. John Thomsen and Joe Gaffney were on the scene for Fox Sports Marquette 105.1-99.9
The first period moved slowly, Ethan Phillips was first to score off of a power play goal with less than a minute left. Defense was strong on both sides throughout the period, but Phillips broke through and drove the student section absolutely insane. John Thomsen and Joe Gaffney expected nothing less from the Marquette senior, who has shined throughout the season. 1-0
The second period was also fairly slow with scoring, despite constant shots and back and forth from both sides. Koczar of the Stevenson Spartans evened the score at the twelve minute mark. Koczar scored again with just over four minutes left, stealing the lead before the end of the period. 2-1
The third period was fun finish to the match. Countless shots were made from both sides, yet none reached the back of the net. A timeout was called with twenty-five seconds left, but no progress was made from either sides. Overall, despite the low scores it was an intense match with a lot of great moves from both teams.
FINAL SCORE 2-1
