The Joe Kocur Foundation for Children has been assisting families in need and charities by developing events that are both family friendly and provide an opportunity to interaction with others in the community. Since 2009 Joe Kocur has been working to give back to the community and this year, Fox Sports Marquette will be a part of that too!
On Saturday August 26th, Ryan Ranguette and Luke Ghiardi from the Morning Sports Drive will be down state for Joe Kocur’s 2017 Celebrity Charity Softball Series. The guys will be reporting live on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1 & 99.9 for the Celebrity vs Celebrity Softball Tournament! Made up of current and former Detroit Red Wings players, these professional athletes will be battling it out at Duck Lake Pines Park in Highland, MI.
Live from the park between 4 and 7 pm, our Fox Sports Marquette duo will be calling the game as well as conducting interviews throughout the afternoon. You can tune in to hear a play by play calling of the game and enjoy live interviews with former and current players including Joe Kocur.
This year, the charity will have the support of the Law Enforcement and Fire Fighters from Milford, White Lake, Highland Township, and Oakland County. Proceeds from the event will benefit Team Kendal Kidz, Huron Valley Special Olympics, Wings of Mercy East Michigan, FAR Therapeutic Arts and Recreation, Play Like Jackson Foundation, and the Shannon Gaber Silverthorn Lakeland High School Public Service Scholarship.
