Marquette, MI – February 27, 2018 – Help your community win a $1000 scholarship! The Marquette Public Schools Education Foundation is offering the first “Community Classic” Basketball Tournament.
Basketball teams grades 3-12 can enter in teams of 5 to play in the event. Scholarship prizes will be awarded to the highest point getters. Making baskets will put teams higher up on the point scale and moving in the director of the a $1,000 scholarship for a senior of their choosing. With both a boys and girls bracket, $1,000 will go to one senior boy and girl from the winning team(s).
Enter the tournament to play on March 23rd, 24th, and 25th at Marquette Area Public Schools. MSHS will be excluding themselves from the scholarship as other proceeds from the event will go to establishing scholarships for their own senior boy and girl graduates.
It’ll be a fun night with paid officials to call fair and even games. Each team will play four games with the first place teams will receive medals.
Register by March 1st with your team of five to get in the running for the scholarship money. The fee is $175 per team.
