Marquette, MI  –  January 11, 2019  –  Marquette Charter Township invites you out for two days of hockey, packed with local team games and family fun! Spanning the last two Sundays of January, bring the family out to Lion’s Field Ice Rink around 1pm to catch a game!

First up, Sunday, January 20th, the Northern Michigan University Wildcats will hit the ice for an intersquad outdoor hockey game. Following the 1pm game, the team and head coach, Grant Potulny will be available for photos and autographs. Bundle up and join us out at the rink to enjoy a rare NMU Hockey experience!

The following Sunday, January 27th, Marquette Township will host a local Marquette Hockey Team battle! From Marquette Senior High School, the Marquette Redmen Varsity Hockey Team will take the ice to face the Great Lakes Hockey League’s Marquette Mutineers.

Both games start at 1pm and the Township will be there with hot chocolate to help you stay warm while you enjoy some Sunday Funday hockey!

Lions Field Ice Rink is located at 2213 Summit Street in Marquette Township across from Vandenboom School. Parking is free, but space may be limited.

This event is weather dependent. We are watching the weather closely. If there is no ice to play hockey, the teams will still be available for a meet and greet, photos and autographs.

Listen to Randy Girard from the Township and NMU Head Coach Grant Potulny talk about this “Catch the Vision” event
