World Series Craziness, Peters Under Center And Same Old Lions
- Updated: October 30, 2017
Marquette, MI – 10/30/17 – The World Series has been nothing short of spectacular this year with the Houston Astros and the Los Angeles Dodgers going back and fourth. The Astros were down 3-0 in the first inning but with big home-runs from Yuli Gurriel, Jose Altuve and George Springer the Astors defeated the Dodgers in 10 innings 13-12. The Dodgers had big homers from Cody Bellinger and Yasiel Puig in a high scoring World Series game. The series in now in favor of the Astros who lead 3 games to 2 as they head into game 6 tomorrow night in Los Angeles.
The Michigan Wolverines got a nice victory over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights at the Big House on Saturday 35-14. The story of the game was the Michigan offense that was led by, not John O’Korn but Brandon Peters. Peters is a red-shirt Freshman and is also a Harbaugh recruit, he played well in the Michigan Spring Game but hasn’t made an appearance. The Wolverines had been struggling at the quarterback position until Peters was under center, leading the Wolverines to three straight scores. The Wolverines now look to another Big Ten match-up when they welcome in the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
The Detroit Lions were back to their old ways on Sunday night doing just enough to win, but falter in the 20-15 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Lions put up 482 yards of offense and became just the 4th team in history to lose while putting up high offensive numbers. Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw a 97-yard touchdown pass to Juju Smith-Schuster and continued their three game winning streak. The Lions have now lost three in a row going into next Monday nights game against the Green Bay Packers.
