Wolverines and Spartans Go Dancing, Pistons and Blaise Zimmer
- Updated: March 14, 2017
Marquette, MI – The March Madness Tournament is about to begin with the 64 teams tonight as the first two games get underway. The teams from our own state will have two teams in the tournament, the Michigan Wolverines who were crowned as the Big Ten Champions and the Tom Izzo led Michigan State Spartans. The Wolverines will open up as a seven seed taking on the tenth seed Oklahoma State. The Spartans will open up against the Miami Hurricanes. The favorite to win the tournament is the defending champion Villanova Wildcats who are a one seed in the East bracket.
The Detroit Pistons will get another glimpse of the top team in the eastern conference tonight, the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Pistons are currently in the 7th seed in the conference and a full game behind the Chicago Bulls. The Pistons can gain ground in hopes to move up and not face the Cavs in the first round, a team that swept them last year. Tip-off will be at 7:00 pm in Cleveland.
Blaise Zimmer stopped in this morning to talk March Madness and other sports topics. Blaise also talked some high school sports with us as well as spring sports at Marquette Senior High School. After going through his March Madness bracket, Blaise picked the UCLA Bruins to win the National Championship, siding with Ryan. Blaise is a smart man, be like Blaise. We thank Blaise Zimmer for stopping in and talking with us this morning.
