Shine To Griffins, Pistons Molly Whopped and Scott McDougall
- Updated: March 15, 2017
Marquette, MI – The Northern Michigan Wildcat Hockey season ended a couple weeks ago after a great January and February run, but it didn’t end for all of the Wildcats. Wildcats forward and goal scorer Dominik Shine is now headed to Grand Rapids to become a Griffin, the Detroit Red Wings farm system. Shine is going from the WCHA to the AHL, one step below the big leagues. Shine ended his career with the Wildcats with 48 goals and 49 assists for a total of 97 points. Shine will join former Northern Michigan Wildcat goaltender Jared Coreau. He will have to tryout each week for an extended stay with the Griffins. We would like to congratulate Dominik Shine as he begins his professional ice hockey career.
The Detroit Pistons were molly whopped last night in Cleveland as they took on the reigning NBA Champions and the leagues best player Lebron James. James ended the night with a triple double adding 16 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists to lead the Cavs to a 126-98 victory. The Pistons were led by Marcus Morris who had 13 points. The Pistons are currently in the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference. The next game will be tonight when the Pistons host the Utah Jazz.
Northern Michigan Wildcats Assistant Linebackers Coach Scott McDougall stopped in this morning to talk about his new job with Northern and how he got to Marquette. McDougall was a strong safeties coach at Ferris State and will now join Kyle Nystrom and his coaching staff. McDougall was born and raised in Grand Rapids and is excited to explore Marquette. Scott McDougall also like to ride motor bikes and is a Packers fan. We would like to thank Coach McDougall for coming on the show this morning!
