
Marquette, MI – The Detroit Red Wings are going into the bye week on a loss that could’ve helped their case to make the playoffs. Islanders Calvin de Haan was credited with the go-ahead goal that ricochet off an opponent in the second period to put the Islanders up 2-1 and ultimately beating the Red Wings 3-1. Henrik Zetterberg scored for Detroit and Wings net-minder Petr Mrazek finished with 19 saves. The Red Wings will now wait a whole week before they get back on the ice against the Vancouver Canucks on February 28th.
The NBA trade deadline is fast approaching and the past couple days lots of speculation has surrounded the Detroit Pistons. Many rumors have surfaced about Andre Drummond and Reggie Jackson being dealt around the league. Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy has all but shot down the rumors, confessing that none of them are true. The NBA trade deadline is this Thursday, we will keep you posted on any NBA trades.
