Wings Fall, Pistons Back in Action and Marquette Redettes

Marquette, MI – The Detroit Red Wings were back in action last night as they took on the Arizona Coyotes at the Joe. Arizona Coyotes Jamie McGinn scored two times as the Coyotes skated out of Detroit with a 4-1 victory one night after being destroyed by the Pittsburgh Penguins 7-0. Andreas Athanasiou had the Wings only goal in the contest while Arizona Goalie Mike Smith stopped everything thrown at him making 37 saves. The Red Wings now are getting prepared to take on the Los Angeles Kings as they are welcomed in on Thursday night. The Red Wings have now lost three of their last four games.

The Detroit Pistons will be back on the court tonight as they travel to Dallas to take on the Mavericks. The Mavs have had a tough season but are coming off one of their best outings of the season where they beat the Denver Nuggets 112-92 on Monday. The Mavericks recorded season highs for points in the paint and fast break points. The Pistons are coming off a big loss to the Philadelphia 76ers and look to regain the momentum they had going into that game. The Pistons are 13-13 on the season and look to pick up a win at 8:30 pm tonight in Dallas.

The Marquette Redettes Basketball team played against Negaunee last night at home losing the contest 48-38. Marquette’s guard and soon to be Northern Michigan Wildcat Amber Huebner led the way for the Redettes with 14 points and 6 assists, Kelsey Grange also added 7 points for Marquette. Negaunee Miners guard Aleda Johnson led the way for the miners dropping 15 points in the victory. The Marquette Redettes are now 3 and 1 on their season and continue play this weekend when they travel to Traverse City.
