
Marquette, MI – 7/27/17 – Eric Hosmer added five hits including a grand slam as the Royals embarrassed the Detroit Tigers 16-2 on Wednesday night. The Royals have now won eight straight games and five of those games were against the Tigers. Detroit has now lost six of their last eight games. The Royals have outscored the Tigers at home 40-10 in the last four games. Royals pitcher Ian Kennedy improved to 3-0 in his last six outings, allowing one earned run on three hits in six innings of work. Tigers pitcher Anibal Sanchez had his worst outing since being called up from the minors. He went 3 2/3 innings allowing four runs on nine hits. The Tigers will now have a day off before they start a three game series against the Houston Astros.
Sands Speedway will be rockin’ this weekend as it is set to host the Northern Michigan Triple Crown. The Triple Crown will feature drivers from all over the Upper Peninsula. The Kinross Speedpark and Sands Speedway have put together a U.P. Challenge together between two stock car racing facilities. This event will showcase the talent of Kinross, Sands and the Norway Speedway. On Saturday July 29th, Sands will have the time trials at 3 pm and races will begin at 5 pm. This morning we had longtime driver of the number 64 car Stan Wittler talking about this weekends activities and the history of the track. Track Promoter Kim LeTourneau also stopped by and gave us all the information we needed to know about the upcoming events. The brain disease can be found in individuals who have been exposed to repeated head trauma. What is the future of football? Will it last? Will it become more safe?
