Marquette, MI – The Detroit Tigers had a good weekend in Minnesota against the Twins winning two of three games. The Tigers won on Sunday afternoon 13-4 with many newcomers aboard from Toledo. First baseman John Hicks had a solid game who added a home run in the contest. Hicks is now 5-10 with a double, home run and six RBI in two games. The Mudhens also sent outfielder Jim Adduci up with the big club and had two hits and three RBI in his first game in the big leagues.

The Marquette Redettes softball team had a tough weekend in Gladstone as they lost all three match-ups they were featured in. The Redettes lost game one to Kingsford 15-5, game two to Gladstone 16-1 and game three to Norway 19-4. The Redettes will now wait until Wednesday when they host the Negaunee Miners, a double header that begins at 4 pm.

Joe Gaffney stopped by this morning to talk NHL hockey and Detroit Tigers. Gaffney is a part of the Great Lakes Radio team as a broadcaster for High School Hockey. Today, Joe touched on who he thought would win in the second round and predicted who would make it to the Stanley Cup Final. We would like to thank Joe for stopping by and talking sports with us this morning.
