The Sports Drive: Island Resort Championship Media Day

Marquette, MI – May 29, 2019 – The Sports Drive returned after a week-long hiatus on Wednesday. Coming off the holiday weekend, Luke and Mark were down at the Island Resort & Casino on Tuesday for the Island Resort Championship at Sweetgrass Media Day.
Luke and Mark talked with a number of people involved in the event, including Casey Danielson who will be playing in the Island Resort Championship for the 2nd consecutive year. Danielson finished Tied for 4th in last year’s tournament.

The Ishpeming Hematites have their new head football coach. George Niemi was hired as the new Hematites head coach after the retirement of long-time coach Jeff Olson. Niemi has been a part of the program for 13 years, and now slides into the lead gig. Luke and Mark discuss the new hire for Ishpeming.
