Marquette, MI – The NFL has been hard to watch all season, but the past week has changed a lot of peoples mind set. The ratings in the NFL have been down this year almost to a league worst. For example, last Thursday you had a team like the Baltimore Ravens who are a solid team one of the best in football taking on a team that’s 0-9 in the Cleveland Browns. The NFL has games that aren’t exciting anymore, one team is good the other bad. Last nights game was full of action, intensity and two good teams. The New York Giants picked up a big win against the Cincinnati Bengals 21-20. Giants Eli Manning had a solid game throwing for three touchdown passes. Giants Wide Receiver Odell Beckham Jr. became the fastest player to reach 3,500 yards receiving. The Bengals were led by Andy Dalton who was 16 of 29 for 204 yards. One thing is for sure, last nights game was the highest rated game in five years. Good job NFL, finally.

The Michigan Wolverines had yet another setback on Monday afternoon with the news of quarterback Wilton Speight. Speight, took a hard hit in the Iowa game and as of yesterday will be out for the remainder of the season with a broken collarbone. The Wolverines take on Indiana this Saturday and will start John O’Korn a transfer from Houston.

The Detroit Red Wings will play tonight when they host the Tampa Bay Lightening at 7:30 at the Joe. Detroit is coming off an embarrassing loss to the Montreal Canadians and look to rebound on this young season. The Red Wings are 8-7-1 on the season and tonight will start Petr Mrazek in goal. Ben Bishop will likely get the start in goal for the Lightening.
