Red Wings Trounced, Pistons Bounced and Mark Stonerock
- Updated: March 9, 2017
Marquette, MI – The Detroit Red Wings season is near the end. The Red Wings fell to the Boston Bruins on Wednesday night 6-1 and gave up three goals in the first period, the Wings never recovered. The Red Wings end their road trip with a 1-3-1 record. Boston has been hot lately going 9-3 in their past 12 games since the re-hiring of Claude Julian. Red Wings defense-man Niklas Kronwall ended up with his first goal of the season and goalie Jared Coreau was pulled after one period of play. The Red Wings will now look to Friday when they take on the Chicago Blackhawks at Joe Louis Arena.
The Detroit Pistons are currently in the 7th spot in the Eastern Conference, one game ahead of the Chicago Bulls. Wednesday night was a tough pill to swallow as the Pistons were taken down by the Indiana Pacers 115-98. Pacers guard Paul George had 21 points in the game with 13 of them in the second half. The Pistons were led by Tobias Harris who had 22 points followed by Andre Drummond with 14 points and 15 rebounds. The Pistons look to keep climbing in the standing on Friday when they host the Cleveland Cavaliers.
UP Health System’s own Mark Stonerock stopped in this morning to talk about his life and cover all of our sports topics. Mark talked about high school sports, NFL free-agency and baseball with us this morning. Stonerock is a big Detroit Tigers fan and sports fan in general. Mark Stonerock has been an amazing benefit to the city of Marquette in the medical field. We would like to thank Mark for taking the time out of his day to come on the show!
