
Marquette, MI – The Detroit Pistons picked up a huge win last night taking down the defending NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers 106-101. The Cavs were led by NBA superstar Lebron James who recorded a triple double with 29 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. The Pistons were led by Andre Drummond who had 20 points and 16 rebounds followed by Reggie Jackson who had 21 points. The Pistons scored 23 points against the Cavs when Lebron wasn’t on the floor. The Pistons now look to Saturday when they host the New York Knicks.
The Detroit Red Wings will have a tough test tonight when they take on the Chicago Blackhawks. The Red Wings are 1-3-1 in their past 5 games and look to rebound on a season that has been very tough. Red Wings goalie Jared Coreau was sent down to Grand Rapids and Jimmy Howard was recalled to start in net tonight. The Blackhawks have won seven of eight and twelve of their past 14, puck drops at 7:30 tonight.
We had two great guests today, Joe Gaffney from the Marquette Redmen Hockey Team and Barb Salmela. Joe has been a guest on the show numerous times talking local and national sports. Barb is in the midst of holding a hockey tournament this weekend at the Lakeview Arena with all the proceeds going to cancer. She is the organizer of, “Stick it to Cancer”.
