Red Wings Shutout Canadians, Packers Bet and Marquette
- Updated: January 17, 2017
Marquette, MI – The Detroit Red Wings got a big lift in yesterdays match-up with the Montreal Canadains. Red Wings goalie and former Northern Michigan Wildcat Jared Coreau was in net and brought the Red Wings a 1-0 victory, recording his second shutout in seven games. Red Wings Thomas Vanek scored the lone goal for the Wings and Jared Coreau improved his NHL record to 5-1-1. The Red Wings are 19-19 on the season and will be home to host the Boston Bruins on Wednesday.
The word on the street’s theses days is that if you’re betting, bet on the Green Bay Packers. Before Thanksgiving two New York natives put $300 down on the Packers to go to the playoffs and win it all. The Packers beat the Cowboys over this past weekend and the bet now stands at $28,213.60 and if they beat the Atlanta Falcons the price will go up to $76,176.70. The two never considered cashing out or hedging their bet. Good luck to Brian Yankelevitz and Russ Axelrod the rest of the way.
The Marquette Redettes basketball team will be at home tonight taking on the Gladstone Braves a team that lost in the last match-up with Marquette 60-32. The Marquette Redmen Hockey team will head to Escanaba to take on the Eskymos at 7:30 pm.
