Packers Move on, Red Wings Today and Pistons Roll

Marquette, MI – Green Bay Packers Aaron Rodgers threw a 36 yard  pass to tight end Jared Cook in the closing moments of Sunday’s playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys to set up a game winning Mason Crosby field goal. The throw from Rodgers came with 12 seconds left on third and twenty. Crosby’s winner was the third field goal of more than 50 yards in the final 1:33, two from Crosby and one by Dallas Dan Baily. Top-seeded Dallas gets their fifth straight loss in the divisional round and continue the 21 year drought of not making an NFC Championship game. Aaron Rodgers threw for 356 yards on 28-43 passing with two touchdowns and one interception. The Packers move on to the NFC Championship game against the Atlanta Falcons next Sunday.

The Detroit Red Wings will be at home today when they take on the Montreal Canadians at 3 pm at Joe Louis Arena. The Red Wings are coming off of a 6-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday. The Montreal Canadians are also coming off a victory over the New York Rangers. Detroit snapped a three game losing streak on Saturday and look to continue add to their now winning streak.

The Detroit Pistons defeated the Los Angeles Lakers Sunday night 102-97. Pistons Tobias Harris scored 23 points while Marcus Morris added 23. The play-maker of the night for the Pistons was center Andre Drummond who had 15 points and 17 rebounds. The Lakers D’Angelo Russell added 20 points for the Lakers who have now lost 20 of their past 25 games. The Pistons next game will come on Wednesday when they host the Atlanta Hawks.
