Red Wings Comeback, Pistons Beat Hot Hawks and MLB
- Updated: January 19, 2017
Marquette, MI – The Detroit Red Wings continued their winning ways on Wednesday night as they welcomed in the Boston Bruins, a top team in the league. The Wings were down 4-1 early in the first period but fought back and won in a shootout 6-5. The Red Wings currently hold the best record in shootouts this year at 6-0. Thomas Vanek and Frans Nielson scored in the shootout, completing the comeback for the Red Wings. The Wings will be back on the ice Friday night when they take on the Buffalo Sabres in Buffalo.
The Detroit Pistons knocked off one of the hottest teams in the NBA last night with a 118-95 victory over the Atlanta Hawks. Pistons guard Reggie Jackson scored 26 points followed by Tobias Harris who chipped in with 19 points and a solid outing from a bench player Reggie Bullock who added 15. Paul Milsap was the leading point scorer for the Hawks with 21 points and 8 rebounds. The Pistons will be at home in Saturday as they welcome in the Washington Wizards. The Pistons are now 20-24 on the season and still at the bottom of the central division but only a game and a half back of the last playoff spot.
The MLB Hall Of Fame Vote ended with 3 former stars from the 80’s and 90’s going into the hall. Jeff Bagwell from the Astros, Tim Raines a former Montreal Expo and Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez from the Texas Rangers.
