Marquette, MI – The Detroit Pistons did not make any deals at the NBA Trade Deadline that ended at 3 pm yesterday. The Pistons were hosting the Charlotte Hornets last night and fell behind early, down by 18 at one point. The Pistons fought back and in the fourth quarter, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope hit a huge three to send the game into overtime where the Pistons shot their way to a 110-102 victory. The Pistons now take sole control of the 8th spot in the east and 1 1/2 games up on the Milwaukee Bucks. The Pistons will host the Boston Celtics on Sunday.

The Detroit Tigers played their first spring training game on Thursday taking on the college of Florida Southern. The Tigers started Myles Jaye on the mound who lasted two innings both of which were scoreless. Tigers Miguel Golzalez had a homerun in the game and Nick Castellanos added a double with an RBI. The Tigers continue their spring training today when they take on the Baltimore Orioles in a Grapefruit League match-up at 1 pm.

Joe Gaffney of the Marquette Redmen hockey broadcast team stopped in this morning for the whole hour to talk about local and national sports. The Redmen took on the Calumet Copper Kings last night at the D stadium and came up short losing 3-0. We thank Joe for stopping in and talking with us today.
