NFL, Marquette Mutineers and Marquette Redmen Football
- Updated: September 9, 2016
Marquette, MI – The NFL season kickoff’d on Thursday night with the Carolina Panthers taking on reigning Super Bowl Champion Denver Broncos. Many questions surrounded the Broncos when it came to the quarterback situation with Peyton Manning retiring. Trevor Siemian got the QB nod in game one. Siemian, whose NFL experience was no more than a taking a knee went 18 for 26 with 178 passing yards and a touchdown with 2 interceptions in his Broncos debut. The Broncos won the game 21-20 thanks to a 50 yard missed field goal by Graham Gano. The rest of the NFL week one games begin on Sunday.
Marquette has a new hockey team coming to the area and we had Joey Enright to bring us all the interesting news surrounding the Marquette Mutineers hockey team. The Marquette Iron Rangers have folded as a hockey club and the city was desperate to get another team in place. The Marquette Mutineers are coming this fall beginning with tryouts on October 1st. A big thanks to Joey Enright for stopping in and bringing us the information on the Marquette Mutineers.
The Marquette Redmen Varsity Football Team is now in week three of their young season. After starting 0-2 the Redmen look to get their first win tonight in the Superior Dome when they take on the Blue Devils of Sault Ste Marie tonight at 8pm. Ryan Ranguette, John Thomsen and Pete Kolbus will bring you all the action beginning with the Honor Credit Pregame show at 7:15. You can tune into the game on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1 and 99.9 and because its also the Big Game of the Week tune into 103FXD.
