Michigan Keeps Dancing, Luke Ghiardi, Jets Look To Fly and WBC

Marquette, MI – The Michigan Wolverines continue to dance tonight as they take on the number three seeded Oregon Ducks to open up the Sweet 16. The Wolverines are coming off a big upset over Louisville, a team that was picked by many to go to the Final Four. The Ducks are coming off a victory over Rhode Island. The wolverines have the edge down-low in tonight’s match-up as Oregon’s Chris Boucher is out due to a torn ACL. The Wolverines will look to continue to get solid production from their bigs in D.J. Wilson and Moe Wagner. Tonight the game tips-off at 7:09 pm. Luke Ghiardi stopped in to talk about all of his picks and broke down each game.
The Powers North Central Jets will be at the Breslin Center taking on Southfield Christian at 6 pm. North Central comes in at 106-1 the past three years and are looking for yet another state title. North Central comes in at number one in the state. while Southfield comes in at number two.
The World Baseball Classic came to a close last night as USA Pitcher Marcus Stroman went six innings without allowing a hit and shutting down the Puerto Rican’s 8-0. Detroit Tigers second baseman Ian Kinsler had a two run home run and San Francisco Giant Brandon Crawford had a two run singe in the seventh as the Americans came out on top. The game was held at Dodger Stadium and was a sell-out, USA won their first ever World Baseball Classic.
