Marquette, MI – The story of the weekend was the Powers North Central Jets as they wrapped up another State Championship for Boys Basketball defeating Buckley 78-69. The Jets also extended is state winning streak to 83 games, one of the longest current streaks in the nation. Jets senior Jason Whitens added two huge buckets late in the fourth and totaled 23 points on the night to lead North Central to its third consecutive Class D State Championship. Whitens career comes to a close with a basketball record of 108-1 and walk-on opportunities at many colleges. Congratulations to the North Central Jets on their amazing run.

The Detroit Pistons playoff hopes will hang in the balance as the season comes close to the end. The Pistons are currently in 10th place in the Eastern Conference and are a full game out of the 8th spot. Tonight the Pistons will take on the New York Knicks, a team that is also struggling losing four straight on their road swing. Tip-off tonight will be at 7:30 in Madison Square Garden.

Kingsford Arctic Blast wide receiver Keven Hagans stopped in this morning to talk semi-pro football. The Arctic Blase have been around for 16 years and have won three championships.
