Gwinn, Michigan– 12/10/15– The Gwinn ModelTowner Girls basketball took on the Iron Mountain Mountaineers this Thursday night in Gwinn. It was a tightly matched game that showed just how focused and prepared both teams were for the battle. The first quarter started off a little shaky for our Gwinn girls but they managed to get more defense on the floor against the Mountaineer girls. The game started to get intense right before halftime. The first quarter ended with a score of 5-14 with the Mountaineers in the lead. The second quarter finished up with a score of 23-25 as the ModelTowners trailed the Mountaineers. Overall, both teams played wonderfully in the first half.
The second half was just as good, if not better. Both teams really brought the action. The Mountaineers showed their defensive side during the third quarter and ended it with a score of 34-38 with the Gwinn ModelTowners trailing. The fourth quarter was also really close and finished up the game with a final score of 50-62 and the Iron Mountain Mountaineers taking the win.
