Marquette, MI – July 29th, 2026 – This week on the Big Local Sports Show, we continue our series of conversations with professional basketball players as we welcome former Marquette standout Marius Grazulis. After an outstanding high school career, Grazulis continued his basketball journey at Grand Valley State before turning his dream into reality by playing professionally overseas.
In the first segment, Marius takes us back to where it all began. He shares how he first fell in love with basketball, what it was like growing up in a family where all of his older siblings went on to play college basketball, and how that competitive environment helped shape him into the player he is today. He also discusses why he didn’t play varsity basketball right away, how the college recruiting process unfolded, and why Grand Valley State became the right fit.
The conversation also revisits one of the most memorable storylines of his college career, competing against his brother, Vejas Grazulis, who starred at Ferris State. Marius shares what it was like facing family on the court, including the unique experience of the two brothers singing the national anthem together before tipoff. He also takes listeners behind the scenes of their most anticipated matchup, when Grand Valley State and Ferris State met in the GLIAC Championship game at Northern Michigan University’s Berry Events Center, offering stories and insight you won’t hear anywhere else.
