Marquette, MI – December 2nd, 2025 – Marquette looked to bounce back after a tough 6–0 loss to Houghton and responded with a much stronger effort in a 3–3 tie against Calumet.
The Sentinels opened the scoring in the first period when Seth Sandstrom banked in a shot from below the goal line. Calumet answered later in the frame as Robert Loukus buried a loose puck to send the teams into intermission tied.
In the second period, Calumet grabbed the momentum, taking a 2–1 lead on a backdoor goal from Rogan Gronlund before Loukus added his second of the night off a turnover, giving the Copper Kings a 3–1 advantage heading into the third. Marquette refused to go away, cutting the deficit to 3–2 with 5:58 remaining on a goal from Brody Lemire. With time winding down, Sandstrom delivered again, scoring a power-play goal with just two minutes left to tie the game and force overtime. The Sentinels return to the ice Friday in Sault Ste. Marie for an 8:00 p.m. puck drop before coming home Saturday to face Byron Center at 1:00 p.m. Both games will air on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1 and 99.9.
