Marquette, MI – November 26th, 2025 – For the second time this season, the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers are headed into battle. They met back in week 1 at Lambeau Field where Green Bay had no problem taking down Detroit (27-13). The Packers’ defense played outstanding, limiting the explosive Lions offense, forcing an interception and four sacks.
The Packers will enter with a 7-3-1 record and a two-game winning streak. In their last contest, they took down division rival Minnesota (23-6). The defense had another monstrous performance, forcing JJ McCarthy into two interceptions and holding him to 87 passing yards, and the Vikings to only 145 total yards. They also added five sacks, two came from Micah Parsons. Green Bay has been dealing with injuries in the past few weeks, including Tucker Kraft, who tore his ACL. Josh Jacobs wasn’t able to play last week, dealing with a knee injury, and Jayden Reed, who has been out since week 2 with a broken collarbone.
On the other side, the Detroit Lions enter with a 7-4 record. In the Lions’ last game they hosted the New York Giants, which would require a late comeback after a Jake Bates 59-yard field goal to force overtime. Jahmyr Gibbs took the first snap of OT to the house and the defense got a stop, resulting in a 34-27 victory. Gibbs rushed for 219 yards on 15 carries and two touchdowns. Lions are also dealing with some key injuries, including Kerby Joseph battling a knee injury, and Sam LaPorta had back surgery this week and most likely done for the season.
The Thanksgiving Day game is set for 1:00 p.m. at Ford Field. Both teams could use a win as they look to catch the Chicago Bears, who are the current frontrunners for the NFC North.
