Forest Park’s Stellar Season Ends in State Semifinals

Marquette, MI – November 24th, 2025 – Crystal Falls Forest Park’s volleyball season came to end after suffering a loss to the eventual state champs, Fowler, in a semifinal matchup. Their season kicked off back on August 23rd when they played in the Sacred Heart Invite where they defeated teams like Saginaw Valley Lutheran, Carson City-Crystal, Grayling, and Alma. They eventually suffered their first loss of the season to Saginaw Valley Lutheran in the invite semi-final matchup (21-25, 25-22, 9-15). From that moment, the team would go unbeaten for the remainder of the regular season taking down teams like Hancock, Escanaba, Kingsford, and Marquette, and dropping only one set during their 33 match winning streak.

Crystal Falls Forest Park would begin their postseason play taking on Ewen-Trout Creek (25-14, 25-21, 25-14). Next they had the opportunity to host Wakefield-Marenisco for a district championship. Similar to their first district match-up, the Trojans would have no issue winning the District 97 Championship (25-10, 25-14, 25-22). CFFP advanced to the regionals and went up against Hancock who would give them a tougher fight than the first two post-season matches. Crystal Falls still only need three sets to get the job done (26-24, 25-23, 25-21). Ishpeming would be the next test for Forest Park in the Regional 25 Championship match. The Hematites, led by Baylor University commit Mya Hemmer, struggled to get in a rhythm and CFFP would claim the Region 25 Championship.

Forest park moved onto the quarterfinals where they would face Atlanta, with the winner getting a chance to play at Kellogg Arena in Battle Creek. Crystal Falls would punch their ticket defeating the Lumberjacks (25-15, 25-10, 25-14). After falling behind in two tough sets in the their semifinal match with Fowler, the Trojans mounted a rally to even out the scoreboard to two apiece (24-26, 28-30, 25-20, 25,19) and headed into a breaker set to determine a winner. Unfortunately, the outcome of the final set didn’t end the way Forest Park was hoping (8-15). Fowler would write history as they would advance to the State Championship to win their first ever volleyball State Championship.
