Marquette, MI — November 22, 2025 – The Marquette Sentinels closed out their home-opening weekend in dominant fashion, defeating Traverse City West 6–1 less than 24 hours after skating to a tie against Midland Dow.
Traverse City West opened the scoring early to take a 1–0 lead, but the advantage was short-lived. Marquette answered less than a minute later to tie the game 1–1, then seized complete control with a burst of three goals in just 3:46 capitalizing on six total shots during that span. The Sentinels carried a 4–1 lead into the first intermission.
Marquette continued to pour it on in the second period, extending the lead to 5–1 with a power-play goal and maintaining that margin through two periods of play. Up next for the Sentinels they’ll hit the road next weekend for a two-game series against Houghton. Marquette travels to the Copper Country on Friday night for a 6:30 p.m. matchup before returning home for the rematch Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
