Marquette, MI — November 28th, 2025 – The Thanksgiving weekend kicked off with a spirited home-and-home clash between Marquette and Houghton. It began Friday night at the Dee in Houghton and will shift to Marquette for a 4:00 p.m. rematch on Saturday. We’ll have it for you right here on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1 or 99.9.
Marquette struck early, going up 1–0 at 14:55 of the opening period with a shot placed perfectly in the top-right corner. Less than 30 seconds later, they doubled the lead, slipping one up over the glove side. A tip-in extended the margin to 3–0, but Houghton responded with a goal of their own to cut it to 3–1, which held through the end of the first.
In the second period, Marquette regained momentum, sneaking a shot through the five-hole to make it 4–1, a lead they carried into the final intermission. Marquette added another tally, this one fired top-shelf, to go up 5–1 in the third. Houghton battled back with two late goals, including one with just 13 seconds remaining, closing the gap to 5–3.
