Marquette, MI – September 5, 2019 – It was a busy day today on the Sports Drive with a lot of guests and a lot of topics to cover.
Ryan Stieg of the Mining Journal hopped on to begin the show in studio to look ahead to NMU football beginning Saturday. The Wildcats take on Mckendree at the Superior Dome and are looking to get the season started off on the right foot. Stieg breaks down the ‘Cats and talks what he expects in 2019.
George Niemi is off to a good start in his first year as the varsity head coach of the Ishpeming Hematites football team. The Hematites beat Manistique 22-6 Friday night in their season opener. Ishpeming travels to lake Linden Saturday for a week 2 matchup, and coach Niemi joined the Sports Drive to talk the week 1 win, and preview the week 2 matchup.
The Michigan Wolverines got a nice win in their season opener Saturday against Middle Tennesee State. There was some good, and some bad. Now Michigan takes on Army, which runs a very unique offense. Anthony Broome of MaizenBrew.com joined the Sports Drive today to break it all down.
