Marquette, MI – December 10, 2018 – The last time the Westwood Patriots and Ishpeming Hematites girls basketball teams met on the court, Ishpeming defeated Westwood for a district championship. It won’t be long into the season for the Patriots to look for redemption. The two teams meet on Westwood’s home court this evening in Westwood’s third, and Ishpeming’s second, game of the season. Westwood head coach Kurt Corcoran joined the Sports Drive to talk about his team and preview tonight’s key match up.
On November 29, the Manistique Emeralds boys basketball team lost to Gladstone 71-28 in their opening game. One week and a day later, the two teams met up on the court again. This time it was Bill Boddy’s Emeralds winning 68-65. Boddy joined the Sports Drive on Monday to talk about his first career win as a head coach and how it can vault his team moving forward.
