Marquette, MI – October 18, 2018 – There are only two Thursday games in the UP for Week 9. Both involve area teams. The Ishpeming Hematites look to go undefeated in the regular season when they take on Bark River-Harris. And the Negaunee Miners host their rival Westwood in a win and you’re in (the playoffs) scenario. Mark caught up with Miners’ head coach Paul Jacobson to see how his team is feeling and what they need to do to win and get a postseason bid.
It is a big week for the UP as almost every resident has a dog in the fight in the Michigan-Michigan State game on Saturday. Michigan State has won 8 of the last 10 against Michigan. Michigan, ranked number 6 in the AP poll, has their eye on an undefeated Big Ten schedule. The voice of the Michigan Wolverines, Jim Brandstatter, joined Luke and Mark on the Sports Drive to talk about how much this rivalry has grown, and what the Maize n Blue need to do to pull out a win.
