Marquette, MI – 2/13/18 – The Marquette Mutineers faced off against the Northern Michigan Wildcats Club Team this past Saturday at Lions Ice Hockey Rink for the, “Ice Under Cover Hockey Bash”. The Mutineers came out victorious 7-5 with winger Cody Bourdeau adding 4 goals in the contest. The Mutineers are 10-3-1 on the year good for number one in the Great Lakes Hockey League. The Mutineers are coming off a 7-5 victory over the Eagle River Falcons last Friday and will take on the Calumet Wolverines this coming Friday at 6:30 pm in Calumet.
The Northern Michigan Wildcats Hockey team has now won 9 of their past 10 games with a series sweep this past weekend over the Alaska-Fairbanks Nanooks. The Wildcats move to 20-11-3 on the season, good for the 17th rank in the national polls. The Wildcats will get this coming weekend off but return to the ice on Friday, February 23rd at 7 pm as they welcome in the Michigan Tech Huskies.
The Detroit Pistons won 5 straight games only to lose the next two games against the Los Angeles Clippers and the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks Dwayne Dedmon made his second start in 18 games on Sunday matching a career high 20 points and 13 rebounds in Atlanta’s 118-115 victory. Pistons Blake Griffin had 23 points. The Pistons return to action tonight against the New Orleans Pelicans.
