Negaunee, MI- May 4th, 2017- The Negaunee Miners were looking for the sweep after taking the first game over the Norway Knights. Negaunee won the first game in what was a very nice comeback. After falling down 5-2 in the top of the fifth, they came back in the bottom of the inning with four runs to steal the game. The Miners knew that the second game would not be easy as they Knights would be looking for revenge after letting the first one slip away.

Once again it was not the greatest start for the Miners. Norway was able to grab the first run of the game, but Negaunee was able to limit the the damage to just the one. Negaunee would leave runners on base and not capitalize on the opportunity to tie things back up in the bottom of the first. The wheels would really come off in the top of the second inning. Norway would be able to bat through their line up and add seven more runs. There was not much of a response by the Miners in the bottom half of the inning as Negaunee would go 1,2,3. Finally, the Miners would get an easier inning, only allowing one base runner and no runs in the top of the third. Negaunee was finally able to get on the board with a run after a couple of errors by Norway.

The top of the fourth was tough for Negaunee. They would allow the Knights to add 9 more runs to their to their total. And that would force a mercy and a split of the double-header.
