Marquette, MI – Football season is right around the corner. We brought Ishpeming Athletic Director Terry Roberts in the studio for some insight on the 2016 Ishpeming Hemitites Football season. The Ishpeming Hemitites are coming off a State Championship victory and Head Coach Jeff Olson has the team geared up and ready to go for yet another great season. Mike Plourde, voice of Hemitites Football stopped by to chime in on the up coming season and what to expect from the defending champs.
The Tigers simply believe Erik Aybar is a better fit than Mike Aviles. Yesterday Tigers GM Al Avila traded Mike Aviles and young catching prospect cather Kade Scivicque to the Atlanta Braves for veteran shortstop Erick Aybar. The move brings a established shortstop with a .242 batting average in 97 games for the Tigers. The Tigers are in the middle of a seven game homestand with the Red Sox coming in on Thursday for a four game series. As the Tigers sit in the standings they’re six games back in the Central and three and a half games back in the Wild Card race.
Coming up on Thursday we will have Marquette Athletic Director Blaise Zimmer in the house to bring us up to date on Marquette Redmen and Redettes night. We will bring you news and information on local and national sports. Tune into Fox Sports Marquette 99.9 and 105.1 or you can stream live at Foxsportsmarquette.com.
