Marquette, MI -September 30th, 2025- Another great week of high school football is in the books. For the first time this season, all three mediaBrew teams emerged victorious. As a result, it showed some very impressive defensive performances.
The Miners traveled to Hancock to face the Bulldogs. They were looking to bounce back after losing their last two games and the Miners had to play without their starting quarterback, Kyle Waterman, who was injured in the previous game. They started strong and never looked back, with Broc Bonivetz leading the charge by scoring the first two touchdowns. The Miners’ defense was dominant, finishing the game with two sacks, an interception, and three fumble recoveries. The Miners secured a much-needed win, dominating the game 44-0, and improved their season record to 3-2.
Next, the Ishpeming Hematites aimed to keep their momentum going after securing their first win last week against Munising. This week, they were on the road facing Rudyard. The Hematites entered the fourth quarter trailing 14-0 but rallied to win in a dramatic finish, 21-14. Grady Gauthier had a standout performance, carrying the ball 35 times for 156 yards, contributing to the Hematites’ total of 210 yards. They improved their record to 2-3.
Finally, in Marquette, the Sentinels celebrated homecoming with a commanding 48-6 win over the Sault Blue Devils. They electrified the crowd by recording multiple interceptions, including one by Ben Rayhorn, who returned it for a touchdown. Ford Richardson contributed significantly, throwing multiple touchdown passes. Marquette kicked off their conference play with this impressive victory. Marquette improves to 3-2 on the season.
