Marquette Redmen Fall to the Escanaba Eskymos 45-28
- Updated: September 15, 2017

Escanaba, MI- September 15th, 2017- It was a rough night for the Marquette Redmen on Fox Sports Marquette. They got all they could handle in Escanaba from the Eskymos. Both these teams were coming into this one off big wins and high expectations for this match up. It was the Escanaba Eskymos that would rise up tonight.
Marquette came into this one after getting their first win and a big win against Sault Ste Marie. Both their offensive and defensive lines had played well in the first three games. The offense looked good in the early goings of this game. The Redmen were able to get two touchdowns on their first two drives. The defense gave up a touchdown on Escanaba’s first drive. On the Ekymo’s second drive they were held to only a field goal. You thought that Marquette defense had settled in but that wouldn’t be the case. Escanaba would go on to score 28 unanswered points.
The Redmen would never give up though. They really hit their stride in the second half. After giving up 28 straight points Marquette would score 14 straight. The offense returned to form from the first half and the defense got a stop and would also force a fumble. It was really impressive to see the Redmen fight their way back into this one. They would get themselves within 10 points before the Eskymos would score again to put this one away.
A tough night for the Marquette Redmen as they fell to the Escanaba Eskymos 45-28. The running game of Escanaba was simply too much for the Redmen. Give credit to Marquette though. They could have easily packed this one in at halftime when they were down 17. But they battled hard and never gave up. They would fight until the bitter end. They are on the road next Friday against Petoskey. You can hear it all on Fox Sports Marquette. Get a look at Marquette’s full schedule here.
KEY STATS: Andrew Gale 3 touchdowns.
