Marquette, MI – 6/19/17 – Brooks Koepka put together a solid Sunday afternoon shooting a 67 good for 5-under-par at the U.S. Open. Koepka finished 4 strokes clear of the rest of the field and tied Rory Mcllroy’s U.S. Open record. On fathers day, his father Bob was very excited, “when he was walking up to 18, that’s when it really hit me. As a father, that felt pretty damn good.”
The Detroit Tigers once again fall at home to the Tampa Bay Rays 9-1 thanks to Steven Souza Jr’s grand slam in the second. Tigers starter Buck Farmer struggled for the first time all year allowing seven runs in 2 1/3 innings. He has now allowed 13 runs over his past two starts after starting the firs two games with 16 strikeouts. Tigers Justin Upton was the lone offensive run for the Tigers on his single in the bottom of the first.
The Milwaukee Brewers continue to stay hot as they have now won 5 of their past 6 with a 2-1 victory over the San Diego Padres. Brewers starter Jimmy Nelson struck out 10 batters for the first time in his career earning a complete game. Brewers second baseman Hernan Perez added a home run in the contest for his tenth of the year. The Brewers had 9 home runs over the weekend, league leading.
