Marquette, MI – Tyler Collins was 0 for his past 30 at-bats until the second inning went he hit a solo home run to left center and then later added a three run shot. Collins provided all of the offense for the Tigers as Michael Fulmer picked up the win to move to 5-1 on the season. Justin Wilson came in the ninth to close out the game with first and third covered he struck out Orioles third baseman Manny Machado to seal the victory. The Tigers continue their series today at 1:10 pm when Jordan Zimmermann takes the mound against Dylan Bundy.
The Milwaukee Brewers continue their hot streak as they defeated the San Diego Padres in the night cap 3-1. The Brew Crew have now won five of their past six games and with the Cardinals losing to the Boston Red Sox in 13 innings now move into first place in the NL Central.
The Marquette Senior High School Head Hockey Coach Doug Garrow stopped in this morning to talk about the NHL Playoff match-ups. The Ottawa Senators beat the Pittsburgh Penguins last night 5-1 to take a series lead 2-1, meanwhile the Nashville Predators and Anaheim Ducks square off in game four tonight, the Predators lead the series 2-1. Garrow has selected the Anaheim Ducks and the Ottawa Senators to play each other in the Stanley Cup Finals.
