Marquette, MI – 8/16/17 – The Detroit Tigers continued their losing ways on Tuesday night falling to the Texas Rangers 10-4. Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander had a rough outing giving up three home runs in the game and back to backs in the fourth inning. Detroit’s only lead came in the second inning off an RBI double from Jose Iglesias. Tigers designated hitter Victor Martinez ended the run production for the Tigers in the ninth with his ninth homer of the season. The Tigers continue their series with the Rangers tonight at 7:05 pm.
Negaunee High School Athletic Director Andrew Brunette stopped in this morning to talk about, “Meet the Miners night” that will take place tonight at 6:30 pm in the Negaunee High School Auditorium. All teams and coaches will be introduced as well as sign ups for the booster club for the 2017-2018 school year. The Negaunee Miners football team will open their season next Friday against Boyne City, that game will begin at 7:00 pm.
Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliot will appeal the six game suspension handed down to him this past weekend. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell wasn’t present for any of the investigations or hearings but will be present for the appeal. Elliot will argue, according to the evidence. that his ex girlfriend is trying to ruin his career. The hearing will take place on August 29th.
