Marquette, MI – Miguel Cabrera’s fifth inning monster homer might as well have come at the bottom of the ninth. Cabrera hit a moon shot moments before the game was halted for good due to inclement weather. Tigers Micheal Fulmer struggled in his start and Blaine Hardy picked up the win. Cabrera also tied Hank Greenberg for the 3rd most home runs in a Tiger uniform at 306. The Tigers continue their four game series with the Cleveland Indians today at 1:05pm when the Tigers send Daniel Norris to the mound to face the Indians southpaw Ryan Merritt.
The Detroit Red Wings played their second pre-season game last night against the Boston Bruins in Boston. The Red Wings tallied 42 shots on goal and defeated the Bruins 5-1. Many bright spots in the Red Wings line-up with Anthony Mantha scoring a goal late and Northern Michigan Alum Jared Coreau stopping 35 of the 36 shots faced. The Red Wings play the Bruins again this Friday in Detroit at 7:30pm.
