Marquette, MI – May 3, 2018 – The 2017-2018 Ishpeming Hematites Girls Basketball Team was arguably the best girls basketball team in school history. The team set the record for most wins in a single season by going 20-4, won a district championship, and made it to the Regional Finals before losing to St. Ignace. The Hematites now have even more to be proud of as three players signed their Letters of Intent to continue their playing careers at the next level. Madigan Johns (Northern Michigan University), Katie Loman (Finlandia University), and Mariah Austin (Lakeland University) will all be in collegiate uniforms next year. Hematites Head Coach Ryan Reichel joined the program discussing what this means to him, to them, and to the program.
Yooper Day was a success! On April 28th the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, a Milwaukee Brewers Single A affiliate, held a promotional day celebrating Yoopers. Seth Merrill, Corporate Marketing Manager for the Timber Rattlers, joined the show once again to talk about the success that Yooper Day was.
