Marquette, MI – August 9 , 2018 – The U.P.’s most popular bike race and the largest point-to-point bike race in the Midwest takes place on Saturday in Ishpeming – Negaunee – Marquette. Nikki Dewald of the Ore to Shore joined the Sports Drive to talk the big race coming up this weekend.
The Ore to Shore will have over 2,000 participants in a variety of races. The premiere race, a 48-mile haul, begins at 10 am in Ishpeming Saturday morning. There are three races for all ages along with 2 kids races. And this year the Ore to Shore has a “fastest family” event where families will be battling it out for the best time!
Two years ago the Gwinn Modeltowners football team made their first playoff appearance since 1999 under head coach Dion Brown. After missing out on the postseason last year, Coach Brown believes this year has a chance to be special. He believes the team has a lot of very good athletes, and numbers are up compared to last year. Luke caught up with Coach Brown after practice to get his thoughts on his team and moving to a new conference.
