Marquette, MI – March 26, 2021 – District week is almost at an end with the girls playing many district championships tonight, and the guys will wrap up the week tomorrow with finals.
The Negaunee Miners girls travel to Calumet tonight to take on the Copper Kings in a district final, and rematch of the first game of the season for both teams. Miners’ head coach Mike O’Donnell joined The Sports Drive today to talk about his team and the matchup with Calumet.
In boys basketball the Menominee Maroons travel to Iron Mountain tomorrow to take on Foster Wonders and the Mountaineers in a district final. The Maroons have wins over the #2 (Escanaba) and #3 (Marquette) teams in the final UPSSA poll, respectively, and look to check knocking off the #1 team (Iron Mountain) en route to a regional appearance. Maroon head coach Sam Larson joined the show today to preview the big matchup.
