Marquette, MI – The Detroit Red Wings are on fire as of late picking up another win last night over the Carolina Hurricanes 4-3 in overtime. Red Wings winger Andreas Athanasiou had the game winning goal. Red Wings Anthony Mantha added two goals and Thomas Tatar added a power play goal. Carolina’s goalie Eddie Lack was injured on the final play of the game sending him to the hospital where he was released, Lack made 23 saves. The Red Wings will have a rematch with Carolina tonight in Carolina.
The Detroit Pistons continue to fall apart with another loss last night to the New York Knicks 109-95. The Pistons were led by Marcus Morris who had 20 points, the Pistons have now dropped four straight games and are 1 1/2 behind the Miami Heat for the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Knicks Kristaps Porzingis has 25 points to lead the Knicks. The Pistons will be back at home on Tuesday as they take on the Miami Heat.
March Madness is down to the Final Four. The Gonzaga Bulldogs will go up against the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Oregon Ducks will take on the North Carolina Tar Heels.
